Things you should know before you start
Fitness is about more than exercise. It’s a catalyst for positive change and it affects every aspect of your life. It will help you move better; feel better; live better. If you don’t know where to start – it starts with Helen!
So I need to make sure I know enough about you to tailor a programme for you as an individual. Therefore, before we get going, I will talk to you about the following things:
-
Body measurements – to look at where you are now and where you want to be, to help you achieve the shape, tone and strength you’re looking for;
-
Weight analysis – to identify where you are for your height, anatomy and physiology and agree interim and long-term goals;
-
Medical questionnaire – I am required by my insurer to complete a simple medical questionnaire for each client I work with;
-
Food and drink analysis – completing a food diary, discussing important medical issues (if there are any) or preferences (what you like, don’t like or can’t do without) and to look at your intake of water and alcohol. I can then provide recommendations about this important part of your fitness journey;
-
Nutritional guidance – provide guidelines based on your individual goals. Help you with a basic understanding of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, to help keep your body fuelled at all times of the day to ensure you have enough energy;
-
Individual programme design – a periodised programme with specific training goals. Motivational reviews to help you achieve your goals and information about exercises you can do at home or work.
